Hidden Gems on Campus - Some Study Spots I'd Recommend

As an SFU student who commutes to school, I found it really difficult finding good study spots my first few semesters. However, over the last two years, I have found some underrated study spots that have worked well for me and may help you as well!
1. The 2nd floor of the Bennett Library
Although the library is meant to be for quiet studying, this floor allows for socializing and collaboration with your peers! This is one of my favourite study spots as someone who cannot study in complete silence and loves sitting near windows. This is a great spot if you are looking to study with a study group or friends.
2. The Education Building Lounge
If you are looking for a cozy and comfy space, this is the perfect spot! There are never too many people as many do not know about this study area and it is a relaxed space in general. It includes colourful couches and armchairs, and even a microwave! This spot is located on the right when you walk down the ramp by the entrance of the Education Building from the Academic Quadrangle.
3. The 5th floor of the Student Union Building (SUB)
This study spot is super clean and aesthetic with full length windows (can you tell I am a fan of spaces with windows yet?)! If you are alone, taking a seat on the high chairs can definitely help you focus, and if you are with a group of friends, there is a row of big tables (with six chairs each) located on the side! It is not super quiet but is not super loud either, making it perfect for a good study session.
4. The 6th floor of the Academic Quadrangle (AQ)
Unlike the above study spots, this space is very quiet, making it perfect if you want a study session with deep focus. There are not that many people, very low traffic, and you can enjoy a great view from the top floor that looks over the campus!
It is important to remember that finding the perfect study spot depends on how you study and focus best! Whether you are a new student or a returning one this fall, take the time to explore campus, try out different areas, and find what works for you!
