The criminology career series event is a three-day event hosted by the Criminology Student Association and the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University.
Each night will feature 5-6 guest speakers from a variety of professional backgrounds. In the past, we have had Judges, Parole Officers, Lawyers, Forensic Identification Officers, Criminal Analysts, and many more. If you want to keep up with what professionals will be attending this upcoming event, please follow us on Instagram (@sfu.csa), or Twitter (@sfucsa), where we will be posting professional profiles leading up to the event!
Each night will begin with a presentation period. Each of our guests will give a short 5-10 minutes presentation on themselves and their career/position. Then we will have a short 15-20 minutes break and return for a short 15-minute group Q&A. After that, there will be a thirty-minute networking opportunity where students will be given the opportunity to ask questions and talk to the professionals on a smaller scale in profession-specific breakout rooms. For example, the Lawyers, Judges, and other law-related careers will all share one breakout room. This format was chosen so that the guests may build off of each other and so that students may get a broader scope of the career they're interested in.
The tickets for this event costs $5, the ticket will give you access to all three nights!
The charity selected is the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal through Canadian Red Cross.
